A Patriotic Prayer

A Patriotic Prayer

This poem brings to life the prayers many humans, who love the land they live on, yet hate the corruption and greed that engulf the political systems they are governed by. It is a cry for freedom, a plea for strength, and an expression of the lust for creativity and equality.

Side Note:Nothing will be changed unless you vote. When I mean vote, I mean not just for the presidency but for state and local officials as well. You can picket, you can protest, you can scream until your lungs bleed but nothing will make change like a vote.

I know the major issue is that the elite control everything, but they sure would have more of a fight with people in office you chose, or maybe even knew personally, through voting for them in a local election. There would be less of a chance for the rich to have more pull in an election because like the presidential election there were an influx of minorities and youth voting.

Many baby boomers will say, “all you idiot youngsters and minorities voted for a puppet,” but honestly I can say, at least they voted. Now this time don't just vote for someone because you think it would be awesome to have a black president, you just wanted to pick one because the paper was confusing, or because someone told you it was a right choice. Educate yourselves! Find out for yourselves! Don't just like someone's opinion of Ron Paul because of something you read off of Facebook or a website.( ANYONE CAN BUY AND MAINTAIN A WEBSITE!) Like it because you are well versed in what his plans are for this country. READ OUR GOVERNMENTS WEBSITE, READ THE BILLS THAT THEY ARE ATTEMPTING TO PASS & CRITICALLY THINK OF THE EFFECTS THOSE BILLS WILL HAVE ON OUR SOCIETY, THEN TELL YOUR LOCAL OFFICIALS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR IT BECAUSE YOU THE PEOPLE THINK IT’S RIDICULOUS! WRITE YOUR OFFICIALS, CALL THEM, EMAIL THEM, TWEET THEM, LEAVE A MESSAGE ON THEIR FACEBOOK WALLS! AFTER THAT FOLLOW UP AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT DOING IT. I 'm speaking to all you out there that don't think you can make a difference. Blacks in America thought they couldn't make a difference as well until the first black president came along and then they decided to participate in voting by the masses. Are you going to tell me that 99% of people can't beat 1% ?

About Society of Free Thinkers

I critically think constantly about many topics. I strongly believe that in society we need to implement equality, freedom, & encourage free thinking in our educational institutions, in order to produce qualified and emotionally stable professionals in the work force. Creativity is what unearths innovations. Nurturing our young, and someone else's, will end violence, and foster emotional stability in children early. I want the world in it's entirety, to be a better place to live in and believe that every society needs a reality check... Something is obviously wrong and in need of change, from the people down to the politics. "Society of Free Thinkers" is a place to educate yourselves freely and to voice your opinion on important worldly topics, in a judgment free area.

  1. Are you kidding? Obama won because he ran against McCain/Palin. Two toads would have been better than that duo.

    • Very true but it still does not take away from the fact that about 1.8 Mil 18-29 yr. old voted more than the last election and 5.8 mil more minorities voted than in 2004. I mean even if the 1.2 mil white voters who didn’t bother to show up from the last election to the Obama election, showed up and voted against Obama he still would have won just with the minority votes alone. So McCain/Palin could rightfully so have been worse than toads but fact of the matter is even if there was a better candidate people would have still voted for him just because he reached out more to minorities and youth. You can’t tell me they really understood what they were voting for when there was a random influx of voters who never voted before. They had no idea of politics they just voted next to Obama’s name.
